How to Get a Streak-Free Tan from Sunless Tanning Lotions

Every year people spend the warm spring and summer months out in the sun. And, for many of them, the time spent out in the sun means getting a tan. And, it’s certainly an option, as the sun’s ultraviolet rays can help you get the tan you want. Of course, there is some downsides to using the sun to this benefit.

– First, you can get a sunburn…especially if you are fair-skinned.

– Second, the sun can cause premature aging of your skin, which means more wrinkles.

– Third, you could be diagnosed with skin cancer.

How To Apply Self-Tanning Lotion To Produce An Even All-Over Tan Look

Most folks understand how bad the sun’s ultraviolet rays are for their skin. And, it’s why many people are opting for sunless tanning lotions and sprays.  Of course, to get a proper streak free tantan using the self-tanning lotion, you need to do it correctly. After all, you don’t want any orange streaks on your body that shows that you are using a lotion and not getting an “actual tan”. With that in mind, here are some helpful tips to ensure you get the tan without any unnecessary streaks.

1 – Exfoliate Several Days Before Applying Your Tanning Lotion

This is the most important step you can take for your skin. You must scrub away the layer of dead skin cells so the tanning lotion doesn’t have to get through it. Thus, when you’re taking a shower, scrub your body all over. Be sure to spend time on regions that are typically dry and scaly like your elbows and knees.

2 – Use Moisturizer Each Day Before You Want To Tan

Use moisturizer for several days, if not a week before you decide to tan. Apply it copiously after you take a shower or bath. If you’re looking for an even coat on your skin, you need to begin each time in the same area. Bear in mind that some areas of your body are drier than other such as your elbows and knees.   Self-tanning lotions will soak up the concoction, which will cause blemished coloring. Ensure your skin is full of moisture to keep this from happening.

3 – Apply Self-Tanning Lotions Away From Steamy Bathrooms

Steamy bathrooms will cause you to sweat, which can melt the self-tanner lotion, which will result in streaks. It’s also a good idea to get cool after the shower before you apply the self-tanning lotion. Hot skin will also cause streaks.

4 – Don’t Rush Through Your Application

It’s imperative that you take your time when applying the self-tanning lotion. If you can, get someone to help you apply it. Begin with one section of your body. You want to pay close attention to the areas you’re working on and you can only do this if you’re working slowly. You’ll get far better results that way!

5 – Thin Down Your Self-Tanning Lotion for Problem Areas

The first areas on your body that will show an inaccurately applied lotion are:

– Ankles

– Elbows

– Knees

To get a more natural look, have a half moisturizer/half self-tanning lotion concoction.

6 – Repeatedly Wash Your Hands During Application Process

You really have two options on this part if you want to get a streak-free tan.

– Use latex gloves when applying

– Wash your hands repeatedly

Be sure to apply the concoction to the back of your hands using a damp triangle. This ensures that the lotion won’t stay on your palms.

7 – Wait To Get Dressed

After you’ve applied the lotion to your body, be sure you wait to get dressed. If you fail to wait, it could stain your sheets and clothes.

Use the above seven tips to ensure your skin gets the tan you want without any streaks that can occur with self-tanning lotion. Above all else, it’s imperative you have patience during the application so you have a streak-free tan to enjoy during beach season. It’s time to have a good time!

How to Get a Great Looking Tan Without Baking on the Beach

Summer… it’s all about fun in the sun and playing in the water. Of course, for some folks, Woman tanningit’s also about getting a tan. Of course, getting a tan means hours on lying in the sun soaked with tanning lotion to make it happen. Many people, women especially in America, want to have a tan skin. But why is that?

Why Some Folks Want To Have Tan Skin

There are a number of reasons why a person wants to have a tan skin.

– First, it can hide skin blemishes, such as freckles or scars, by making it even. – Second, tanned skin tends to make a person look skinner than fair skin. – Third, people with tans have reported that their skin complexion has improved because the oils in the skin have been dried out by the sun’s UV (ultraviolet) rays. Folks who have eczema or psoriasis tend to see improvements in their conditions after they tan. – Fourth, people typically want a tan skin to produce a physical attraction for a mate. Many people associate tan skin with healthiness and active lifestyle.

5 Reasons Why Outdoor Tanning Is Such A Bad Thing For The Skin

While baking yourself outdoors does work to give you a great looking tan, it does come with serious, sometimes deadly, consequences. What kinds of consequences are associated with tanning by the sun?

1 – Skin cancer (melanoma) 2 – Depressed immune system 3 – Accelerated aging 4 – Tan lines 5 – Sunburns

Okay, so now you know why people spend hours outside in the sun and why they really need to find other ways to get that golden tan they’re looking for. With that in mind, what methods are at your disposal to get that great looking tan you’re looking for without the help of UV rays from the sun?

How You Can Get A Great Looking Tan Without The Sun’s Help

tanning booth1 – Tanning Bed

One of the primary ways people get a tan without the sun’s help is the tanning bed. A tanning bed is a device that uses UV light to generate a cosmetic tan. Many people, most especially women, tend to enjoy tanning and will go to a tanning salon. However, there are home tanning beds that allow persons to tan in their comfort of their own home.

2 – Sun lamps

These devices are similar to a tanning bed in how they work. However, these place the focus on your body, not the eyes. And, they can also stimulate Vitamin D, which can produce tanning of the skin.

While sunlamps and tanning beds do give you a tan without baking in the sun, they’re still not safe and UV-free. If you want a trauma-free tan for your skin, then you have several options at your fingertips.

3 – Sunless Self-Tanners

Sunless self-tanners are thought of as “tans in a bottle” and have the ingredient dihydroxyacetone (DHA), which, over time, will stain the skin’s outside layer’s dead cells. It lasts up to a week. But, if you exfoliate your skin, it will wash off faster. Bear in mind that you might need to try several different kinds to find one that fits your skin tone.

You have the choice of towelettes, lotions or sprays for your sunless self-tanners. Keep in mind that some self-tanners will have moisturizers that will give you color over time without any staining or blotching. You also don’t get the horrible smell that some come with.  Best of all, these sunless self-tanners won’t cost you an arm and a leg. You can find them around $10 or so.

4 – Airbrush Tanning

You should also consider airbrush tanning, which gives you a more even and natural tan than other methods. An airbrush tan consists of a salon technician using a DHA solution in a spray compressor and spraying it on your body. Your lips, eyes and nose will be protected by a cover while the process is going on. It takes between five and sixty seconds to complete. Within several hours, you’ll notice your darker skin.

Important Notes About Sunless Self-Tanners and Airbrush Tanning

If you want the best possible results, make sure you exfoliate your skin before you put the tanner on. Exfoliating before application will remove the dead skin cells and even the skin tone.  And, when you decide to enjoy that fun in the sun, you’ll still need to wear sunscreen to protect your skin from the harmful sun rays. After all, these methods don’t produce melanin production and you could possibly get burned without some type of protection.

As you see, there is no reason to bake yourself red or tan on the beach. Instead, with these above four methods, you can get the tan you always wanted to have during the long summer days. Enjoy!

How Does a Tingle Tanning Lotion Work?

There are all kinds of tanning lotions on the market. Perhaps you have used a few for yourself while out at the beach, inside at the tanning salon or just rubbed on to get the “tan” look. One very popular tanning lotion is the tingle tanning lotion.  What’s so great about tingle tanning lotion you ask?

What Are Tingle Tanning Lotions: How Does It Work?

The reason these lotions are called tingle tanning is that they give a tingling sensation on your skin after you apply the lotion; hence the name. It’s certainly more intense than other tanning lotions on the market. What the lotion does is bring blood to the skin surface and, essentially, oxygen to affect the skin’s melanin.  The more melanin that’s affected, the darker your skin is going to become.  Basically the purpose to tingle tanning lotions is to boost the effects of UV rays you expose yourself to when lying in tanning bed. ultimate-inferno-tingle-lotion

Yes, your skin is going to be red for approximately one hour after you tan. The redness is similar to a sunburn. However, the redness will fade and you’ll be fine.

What does it all mean? Basically, the lotion’s ingredients, Methyl Nicotinate or Benzyl, are designed to bring more oxygen into the skin by increasing the circulation of blood in your body as well as the increase the amount of oxygen on the surface of the skin. So, tingle tanning lotions are designed for persons who want deep tans or have difficulty getting a tan.

Pain vs. No Pain: In The End You Get Your Tan

Some folks give up on using tingle tanning lotions because of the sensation it gives. Some users have complained that the lotion is painful or uncomfortable. Other users have not made any complaints against this kind of lotion. It’s all depending on rough your skin is and how high your pain level tolerance is. Everybody is different, which means what you get from the experience could be different for your friends.

However, if you do endure whatever pain, if any, you will get the end result that the tingle tanning lotions are designed to do…give you a tan skin!

When You Need To Be Careful Using The Tingle Tanning Lotions

Tingle tanning lotions are easy to apply. However, there are a couple of things you need to understand about it.

Tanned woman– First, any person who has very sensitive skin may or may not be able to it.

– Second, if you’re going to be around children, it would be best not to use these kinds of products, as it can be potent to their skin.

The reason is that the ingredients of the tingle tanning lotions are similar to what you find in Bengay or any similar product. For that reason, you should never place it on your face or on the sensitive regions of your body.

When Should You Begin Using The Tingle Tanning Lotions?

If you’re interested in using the tingle tanning lotions, you might be wondering when the best time is to begin using them. Many specialists have claimed the best time is when your skin reaches a tanning plateau. So, if you notice your skin isn’t reacting to the tanning items you are using, it may be time to begin using the tingle tanning lotions. Of course, it’s always best to consult a dermatologist before you use it, if you’re not sure.

ONE FINAL NOTE:

When you go shopping for tingle tanning lotions, read the labels. Some products will say high tingle; others will some low-tingle. If you’re new to the market, it’s best to use low-tingle products. As you get accustomed to the lotions, you can begin using high-tingle lotions. Whatever you decide to go with, always be careful when you apply it to your body… for all the reasons mentioned above!
